Dr. Benoit Leduc

Benoit Leduc joined the Government of Canada via its Policy Research Development Program in 2002, after four years at the University of Tokyo and the University of British Columbia where he was researcher on regulatory and industrial policy. Originally responsible for analyses and consultations related to sustainable and technology policy at the Policy Research Initiative, he is currently Senior Economist with the Emerging Technologies Directorate at Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED). In between, he spent five years working on North American regulatory and technology cooperation initiatives, and has developed expertise on advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies since 2009. He earned his PhD in political economy from the University of British Columbia in 2002.
